[Video]525 hp Camaro Z28 spotted at the Ring.

Is this the new Chevy Camaro z-28, judging by the brake calipers and wheels it seems like it is. The guys over at Edmunds Inside Line got their hands on one hot spy video : the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro being tested at the Ring. It is rumored that the engine will push around 525 horse power. Listen to the engine roar.[Source:Luxvelocity]

Corvette Z06 Black Edition by Geigercars

Geigercars loves American cars with a passion. The German tuner work their magic on American cars with great success. The stock Z06 comes with a very respectable 512 hp, the Geigercars Z06 manages with 542 hp. But the new range topping Geigercars Black Edition Z06 extracts 592 hp from the LS7 7.0-liter V8 engine. The body kit is all black out, which is my favorite kit for any car.[Source:World Car Fans] Check out pictures below.

AutoCar Races a Porsche GT2 vs Corvette Z06!

This is one of the best races i've seen in a long time. The Porsche GT2 is definitely one of the best Porsches to date. The Porsche has a 3.6-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder powerplant pumps out an impressive 530 hp and 500 lb.-ft. of torque. The Chevrolet Z06 has been in showrooms a bit longer, but nothing holds back its 7.0-liter eight-cylinder engine packing a 505 hp punch with 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Also, keep in mind the Porsche costs about twice the Z06. We won't tell you who wins, but the race will be more balanced once they have the GT2 battle against the up coming 620hp ZR1. Chevrolet’s Turbocharged Cobalt SS Coupe Priced at $22,995

chev2.jpg

General Motors has announced the all new Chevy Cobalt SS coupe will be in dealers in late April and will carry a MSRP of $22,995. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, premium sound system, remote keyless entry, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, OnStar and XM Satellite Radio. Major options include an uplevel audio system ($295), sunroof ($750), high-wing rear spoiler ($195) and a limited-slip differential ($495). The top of the range Cobalt is powered by GM's 260 hp turbo charged 2.0-iter Ecotec engine matted to a five-speed manual transmission. According to Chevy, the SS Coupe manages to sprint from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.7 seconds, while it hits the quarter-mile in 14.1 seconds. Although, I personally don't like the car the speed is just amazing. I wish Audi would use some thing around 250hp for its turbo engine.Check out pictures below. [Source: Car Scoop]

Would You Buy a 4-Cylinder Camaro, Challenger or Mustang?

Speaking at the New York Auto Show, GM’s Vice Chairman Bob Lutz revealed that General Motors is considering a 4-cylinder for the new Chevrolet Camaro if fuel prices continue to hike. In particular, Lutz said that the drivetrain under consideration is the 260 Hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit from the Pontiac Solstice GXP. How would v-6 and v-8 american hungry buyers react to american muscle cars with 4 cylinders, even though they're high powered turbo engines. See when you think of muscle car, you think big engine, loud noise and fast car. So, how would it look when american cars are switching to 4 cylinders which will be quiet and not as fast. Should american companies continue to put big engines in them since they are muscle cars and represent a look to the car or go with popular trends and put 4 cylinder engines in them. My question is simple, how would you react to 4 cylinder engines in camaro, mustang and challenger and would you buy them?[Source Car Scoop]

Porsche 911 Turbo, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and U.S. spec. Nissan GT-R hit the racetrack

Earlier we wrote about AutoPits(click here to see) GT-R comparison, well heres a new one. The Arrival of the Nissan GT-R is making a lot of people curious and everyone is trying to compare it to other cars on the track. The crew from road and track recently transported a U.S. market version of the 2009 Nissan GT-R, a 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo and a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to Buttonwillow Raceway in California for a little fun. They didn't drive the cars, they brought 12 Hours of Sebring race winner Steve Millen along to be the pilot. They did a few laps around the track and did the typical 0-60 mph, 1/4 mile, skidpad, slalom and braking tests were also performed, but proved to be ill-equipped in distinguishing the competitors. The lap times really told the story with the Porsche clocking in at 2:02.1, the Z06 right on its tail at 2:02.02 and the GT-R well ahead at 1:56.9. Just amazing, but i wish they'd really compare the GT-R to something its own size like the Porsche GT-2 and maybe a corvette ZR-1 if they can get their hands on it.[Source: Auto Blog]
