Porsche GT3 RS [Spied]

porsche3.jpg
Spy photographers have spotted a facelifted Porsche 911 GT3 RS prototype out testing on the roads of Germany, just outside of the Nürburgring. Some new modifications to the Porsche are LED lighting that will be applied across the 911 models and cleaner front bumper design, with larger intakes at the corners. This model will maintain the RS trademarks like the competition-spec roll-bar, lightweight fixed rear wing, and thinner glass for further weight savings. A new rear bumper design is also in the works, sculpted to bring a bit more attention to the GT3 RS' center-mounted exhaust tips. Visual changes aside, I wonder what changes are under the hood. Is more power to battle the Nissan GT-R V-Spec , or Lexus LF-A . All three cars are at the Nurburgring, which is just interesting.[Source:Left Lane News]-For More Pictures Click Continue Reading Below!

2010 Porsche Panamera Spied In Vegas

p3.jpg

Porsche engineers were out in full gear, with a parade of at least 5 prototypes, giving photographers more chances to take pictures of the Panamera.  The entry-level powerplant will be Volkswagen's 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine with 300 bhp, while Porsche's own drivetrain will be a direct-injection eight-cylinder petrol engine, available in naturally-aspirated guise (350 bhp) and with twin-turbo (560 bhp). In addition – we’re also expecting the Panamera S version. The interior — although apparently still in its prototype stage — is highlighted by a center-mounted LCD screen and a typical Porsche gauge cluster. The exteriors seem to vary for instance some have exhausts similar to the Porsche Boxter, while some have quad-exhausts-seems the quad exhaust is for the turbo version. The Panamera is scheduled for an official presentation at the 2009 Geneva show. As of now, I personally don't like the car all that much, but in the end it should be good…hey it's a Porche. Below I've included Panamera spy pictures from different times. What do you think of this car?[Source:Left Lane News]

AutoCar Races a Porsche GT2 vs Corvette Z06!

This is one of the best races i've seen in a long time. The Porsche GT2 is definitely one of the best Porsches to date. The Porsche has a 3.6-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder powerplant pumps out an impressive 530 hp and 500 lb.-ft. of torque. The Chevrolet Z06 has been in showrooms a bit longer, but nothing holds back its 7.0-liter eight-cylinder engine packing a 505 hp punch with 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Also, keep in mind the Porsche costs about twice the Z06. We won't tell you who wins, but the race will be more balanced once they have the GT2 battle against the up coming 620hp ZR1. Porsche Has A Bugatti Killer In Mind… And Soon!

Porsche will be busting Bugatti's  bubble in 2009, when it releases the worlds fastest road car. he car will be a 950-bhp, street-legal version of Porsche's future Le Mans racer and use the Carrera GT's carbon fiber frame with a new nose and tail. The GT1's top speed will be 254 mph, 2 mph more than the Veyron. Autocar's drawing is said to be inspired from leaked technical drawings, so this is more than an artist's best guess. It is unknown if Porsche will be using the Carrera GT's V10 or using a twin-turbo version of the Cayenne S's V8. Regardless of which engine is chosen, the GT1 holds the promise of stealing the top podium spot away from the Bugatti Veyron.[Source:Auto Blog, Car Type]

Porsche GT2 dressed to kill in red with black rims

This is one of the coolest porsches, I would love to see this on the track with the Nissan GT-R. 530 HP from a twin-turbo version of the automaker's famous flat-six, 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, a 204-mph top speed, and 18.8 mpg makes a nice cherry on top, too. Check out the gallery and see what you think.[Source:Auto Blog]

Porsche 911 Turbo, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and U.S. spec. Nissan GT-R hit the racetrack

Earlier we wrote about AutoPits(click here to see) GT-R comparison, well heres a new one. The Arrival of the Nissan GT-R is making a lot of people curious and everyone is trying to compare it to other cars on the track. The crew from road and track recently transported a U.S. market version of the 2009 Nissan GT-R, a 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo and a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to Buttonwillow Raceway in California for a little fun. They didn't drive the cars, they brought 12 Hours of Sebring race winner Steve Millen along to be the pilot. They did a few laps around the track and did the typical 0-60 mph, 1/4 mile, skidpad, slalom and braking tests were also performed, but proved to be ill-equipped in distinguishing the competitors. The lap times really told the story with the Porsche clocking in at 2:02.1, the Z06 right on its tail at 2:02.02 and the GT-R well ahead at 1:56.9. Just amazing, but i wish they'd really compare the GT-R to something its own size like the Porsche GT-2 and maybe a corvette ZR-1 if they can get their hands on it.[Source: Auto Blog]
